Would 3 miles be a lot to run for someone who is semi-out of shape?

I play soccer year-round basically, but I've kinda taken the summer off. Do you think I'd be sore/out of breath or would I be able to handle it?
During club season, I work pretty hard and same with the school season, but during the spring I don't work too hard.

I think you could do it if you ran slow and just kind of trotted. Since you've taken the summer of, it especially might be a stretch. Does it have to be 3 miles? Why not just start with one and work your way up. Walk a little if you have to, the important thing is you're out there trying to get better.
