Welding The Big Ring !!
Sometimes when the moon is full, it appears to have a large ring around it. What exactly causes this?
Depends really what kind of effect you are talking about as there are a few. Most common is just the refraction of the moonlight off of ice crystals in the atmosphere way up. As these particles are generally the same size and composition the effect is pretty much the same every time you see it.
Alot of cool effects can come from the moonlight, including moon bows which are alot like rainbows though not as intense.
